Brian Gage Los Angeles Saddest Little Robot

Brian Gage Los Angeles - The Saddest Little Robot The Saddest Little Robot - visit The Saddest Little Robot Brian Gage in Los Angeles. Illustrated by Kathryn Otoshi Synopsis. Snoot is a Drudgebot, and a confused one at that. He can’t figure out why the Halobots, who run Dome City, get so much extra light (all robots need light to survive). He thinks so much about this he gets easily distracted and is consequently the least productive of all robots. He is also oddly shaped and the others make fun of him. Curious about what exists in the awful darkness outside the Dome, he ventures forth and discovers that all is not as it seems. Snoot vows to restore equality to Dome City. With guile, cunning, and good old-fashioned courage, Snoot, aided by some special friends, returns to Dome City to free the Drudgebots. In both story and illustration, The Saddest Little Robot evokes and utilizes the styles of sci-fi books and films, manga, movie posters, comics, and animation. It encourages readers to look beyond what lies on the surface, to discover for themselves that things are not always as they seem. Most importantly, it is a story of strength and personal power. Snoot, once the saddest little robot, in the end becomes very, very happy indeed. Soft Skull is proud to present The Saddest Little Robot as the premier release from Red Rattle Books—its new children’s book imprint—because it combines entertainment with ethics, fantasy with philosophy, humor with humanity, and challenges kids to learn to think for themselves. Brian Gage Los Angeles book profile. Brian Gage Los Angeles Illustrated by Jeff Petersen Burn, Christmas! Burn!! is a humorous Christmas book about Santa’s Elves who are tired of being third-rate drones in his oppressive sweatshop. Santa is greedy and old. Mrs. Claus is the crotchety and mean CFO. And Rudolph? He’s got a score to settle too. Years of backbreaking labor have finally done in the Elves’ patience. They’ve reached boiling point. They’re mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. What to do? Well, overthrow Christmas, of course. Thus the Elves’ plot: to turn the reindeer into reindeer stew (guided into the reindeer stables by Rudolph’s nose); booby-trap the children’s presents; smash Santa’s factory. Unless…all the little children (naughty, nice, who cares!) agree to send demands for elfin freedom to Santa, instead of their wish lists… This book incorporates many beloved Christmas tales only to turn them on their head… Or knock their heads together.
